SUMMER STYLE, NEON AND CHAMBRAY

remember when i said that a chambray shirt is an absolute necessity in a closet?  this outfit is a perfect example of why.  it's the ideal item to layer over a neon mara hoffman dress that is probably a bit pricey if you're only going to get one look out of it.  but, add a magic chambray shirt and VOILA!  an entirely different outfit. the chambray tones down the neon, gives it a casual vibe, looks great with lipstick.  and now, i pat myself on the back.  i finally found the right rationalization for adding this dress to my closet.  see how that's done?  xx- sarah

SHOP THIS OUTFIT:  dress: mara hoffman (here and here), shirt: jcrew, shoes: dolce vita, bag: clare vivier, watch: marc jacobs, bracelet: tory burch, lips YSL OGBD

Super cute. I just recently got my first chambray shirt (also from jcrew) and I wear it allll the time. I'm kicking myself for not buying one sooner!

I can relate to the rationalization! I love chambray shirts with maxi/ midi dresses, its usually my airport uniform - so comfy :)

Love this. That Mara Hoffman dress is to die for, and you style it so well.

I just realized after a Madewell order arrived yesterday that I have five chambray shirts. And yet, already, I'm looking at that J Crew one like... well, I could use it...

I think I need an intervention. ;)
